Pupils from Minerva Primary Academy visit the SS Great Britain

Year 2 pupils from Minerva Primary Academy recently enjoyed an exciting educational trip to the iconic SS Great Britain in Bristol.

As part of the visit, the children participated in an engaging workshop about the life and achievements of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the legendary engineer behind the ship.

Pupils also had the opportunity to tour the historic vessel, exploring its decks, cabins, and grand dining spaces.

One pupil exclaimed, “It was much bigger than we thought!” The visit not only brought history to life but also inspired curiosity and admiration for Brunel’s groundbreaking innovations.

A spokesperson for Minerva Primary Academy said: “This trip was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to connect with local history and learn about one of Britain’s greatest engineers.
