Pupils at Minerva Primary Academy find real-life inspiration for writing
Year 5 pupils at Minerva Primary Academy enjoyed an exciting hands-on learning experience designed to bring their narrative writing to life.
Pupils were tasked with building shelters as part of their exploration of the book Treasure Hunters.
This immersive activity provided a practical and creative way for pupils to engage with themes from the story while honing their storytelling skills.
The shelter-building activity is also intended to lay the groundwork for pupils next learning objective instructional writing.
A school spokesperson said: “We believe that engaging, real-life experiences like this not only enrich our pupils understanding but also spark a love for writing.
“Activities like shelter building connect literacy objectives with practical application, making learning both meaningful and memorable.
“Pupils enthusiasm and creativity during the activity were evident, showcasing the academy’s commitment to innovative learning methods.”
