Minerva Primary Academy pupils take part in the RSPB big garden birdwatch
As global citizens, Year 2 pupils at Minerva Primary Academy have been actively participating in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, developing their appreciation for local wildlife and the natural world.
During their birdwatching sessions on the school grounds, pupils spotted a wide variety of birds, sparking enthusiasm and curiosity about the species living in their environment.
Inspired by their findings, many pupils extended their birdwatching skills beyond the classroom, observing and identifying birds in their own gardens and local areas.
This hands-on experience not only deepened their connection with nature but also highlighted the importance of protecting and caring for local birdlife.
A spokesperson said: “It was wonderful to see children so engaged in observing nature and learning about different bird species.”
Minerva Primary Academy remains committed to fostering environmental awareness among its pupils and is proud to support initiatives that encourage young people to engage with the natural world.
