Minerva Academy pupils step back in time to explore Victorian schools
Year 2 pupils at Minerva Primary Academy transformed into young historians as they explored the fascinating world of Victorian schools.
The week began with an immersive make-believe Victorian school day, giving pupils a first-hand experience of what education was like in the 19th century.
Through this engaging activity, pupils gained insight into the differences between modern classrooms and their Victorian counterparts.
The experience included hands-on exploration of historical artefacts, allowing them to learn how these items were used in everyday school life during that era.
The week’s activities provided a unique opportunity to connect with history, sparking curiosity and developing their critical thinking.
Jenny Harvey, Principal, said: “Minerva Primary Academy is proud to offer such enriching experiences, helping our pupils build knowledge of the past and appreciate the progress in education over the years.”
