Minerva pupils light up learning with circuit science

Year 6 pupils at Minerva Primary Academy refreshed their knowledge of electrical circuits during an engaging hands-on science lesson.

As part of their learning, pupils designed and made circuits that lit up, spun around or produced sounds, all of which could be operated using switches.

The practical activities encouraged creativity and helped pupils to see how circuits work in real-life situations.

Pupils had fun working scientifically as they tested, strengthened and improved their designs. They also developed valuable problem-solving skills, persevering when circuits did not work as expected and making adjustments to achieve the desired results.

A spokesperson for the academy said: “Our Year 6 pupils showed great enthusiasm and determination throughout the session.

“Activities like these help to bring science to life, allowing children to experiment, think critically and build confidence in their understanding of how things work.”
